Adoption Process

Won't you take us home?
Interested in one of the animals shown here?
Please send us an e-mail or call us at (585) 342-6099 for further information as to when the animal may be shown at an adoption event, or to schedule a time most convenient for you to see the cat or dog of your choice. Once you have seen the pet, if still interested, you will be asked to complete an adoption application. An ASL member will then interview you and help you determine if this is the best pet / owner match taking your lifestyle and expectations into consideration. Our goal is to find a lifetime match for each pet & person.

Very often there will be a home visit with the ASL agent and the pet you've picked to help with the decision making process. If you have another pet, how will they get along? How do all of the family members react to the idea of a new pet? A home visit helps to sort through some of these issues. If you decide yes, and ASL agrees, you can pick up your new pet as arranged with your ASL representative. You will sign an adoption agreement when the pet is released into your care.
