Adoption Process
Won't you take us home?
Interested in an Animal Service League animal that is available for adoption?
Please send us an e-mail or call us at (585) 342-6099 to start the application process and make arrangements to meet. An adoption counselor will interview and help you determine if the pet is a good match for you, taking lifestyle and expectations into consideration. Our goal is to find a lifetime match for each pet & person.
Very often there will be a home visit with the ASL agent and the pet you've picked to help with the decision making process. If you have another pet, how will they get along? How do all of the family members react to the idea of a new pet? A home visit helps to sort through some of these issues. If you decide yes, and ASL agrees, you can pick up your new pet as arranged with your adoption counselor. You will sign an adoption agreement when the pet is released into your care.
